All town offices will be closed on Friday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. The Bee will have early deadlines for this week's print edition. We will be mailing the November 11, 2016, print edition on Wednesday afternoon so that subscribers receive their paper on time.

Newtown Senior Center and Cyrenius H. Booth Library will be closed.

The transfer station at the former landfill on Ethan Allen Road will be closed.

It is also a postal holiday, so there will be no mail delivery and USPS post offices will be closed. As a result,

The offices of The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, will be open on November 11.

VFW Ceremony

VFW Post 308 will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony, Friday, November 11, at 11 am. Post 308 is on Freedom Defenders Way (formerly 18 Tinkerfield Road), off Wasserman Way.

The public is encouraged to attend this program honoring veterans of the American armed forces.
