Three Tenors Christmas Coming To CPTV

For the first time ever, the Three Tenors — Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti — will celebrate the holiday season in The Three Tenors Christmas, recorded live during a festive concert performance in Vienna’s Konzaerthaus. The Three Tenors Christmas will air on Connecticut Public Television on Monday, November 27, at 8 pm, as part of CPTV’s winter 2000 membership campaign.

CPTV is on channel 12 on the Charter Communications Cable System.

The Three Tenors features music The Three Tenors have never before recorded together. The three superstars share the spotlight here, as in their legendary stadium concerts, singing favorite songs and carols from around the world, with Steven Mercurio conducting the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen.

The Three Tenors Christmas includes the songs “O Tannenbaum,” “White Christmas,” “Amazing Grace,” “SilentNight,” “Domi O Bambino,” “Susani,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Winter Wonderland,” “La Virgen Lava Panales” and “Feliz Navidad,” as well as lullabies by Brahms and Strauss.

Mr Carreras, Mr Domingo and Mr Pavarotti, opera’s three most famous singers, have enjoyed phenomenal success as a trio over the past decade. The popularity of their concerts transcends musical genres. Recordings and videos of each of these concerts have sold in the millions internationally, inspiring annual tour by the Three Tenors of stadium venues all over the world.
