Bolinsky Offers Thanks For Re-Election
To The Editor:
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the confidence you’ve placed in me, your support, and voting to elect me to serve you in what will be my 7th term, caring for the community my family loves.
Public service is something that’s wonderful to experience — because of you. More than ever this year, so many of you welcomed me warmly at so many doors; on the streets, in your living rooms and kitchens; at community events; local stores and eateries. It’s hard to find adequate words to express how blessed I feel to be a part of our amazing town. I hope to return each and every kindness.
We have plenty of important work to carry forward, and I pledge to do so on issues that matter to all of us by continuing to listen and learn from you; living by the Golden Rule; surrounding myself with positive people, and understanding we do not have to agree on every detail of every issue to achieve a balance of mutual respect centered on you, never on special interests.
I’m proud of my team and the positive campaign we ran again this year, focused on issues, accomplishments, solutions and aspirations. I hope you noticed and felt a refreshing difference in our approach, and our references to good work and cooperation with the Governor, my Democratic Co-Chair of the Aging Committee, policy staff, and other bipartisan partners.
I close with a thank you to my opponent for her very gracious call this morning offering congratulations and expressing optimism about our continuing to work together in service to all of Newtown. Her call reminded me of the first time we met. Not many people know that Michelle, in January of 2013, was the very first constituent to visit me at my Capitol office. She brought a beautiful African violet for my desk and we had a nice conversation that I remember and appreciate to this day. I wish her well and encourage others to be engaged in serving our town, like she and I do.
Be well. Stay safe. Spread only Kindness.
State Representative Mitch Bolinsky (R-106)
