Diocese Begins Habitat House

BRIDGEPORT –– Volunteers are needed during the week of November 10–15 for a “building blitz” at a Habitat for Humanity homebuilding project sponsored by the Diocese of Bridgeport.

Bishop William Lori will break ground for the project on Saturday, November 8, at 10 am. The house is at the corner of 573 Ogden Street, directly off East Main Street near St Charles Church.

Habitat for Humanity International is a Christian housing ministry that welcomes people of all faiths to join in their mission of the elimination of substandard housing throughout the world. The 87 parishes of the Bridgeport diocese will be involved in the various aspects of homebuilding, fundraising, and partnering with the family that will occupy the “Jubilee House,” named to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the diocese.

For more information, or to volunteer for the project, contact Sister Julie Horvath at 203-375-5887 or Betty Anne Casaretti, 203-372-4301, ext 358.
