âDeathtrapâ Opens This Weekend At Little Theatre
Town Players of Newtown will offer the opening performances this weekend for their production of the Ira Levin thriller Deathtrap.
The show opens November 7 and will run Friday and Saturday evenings through November 29; curtain is 8 pm. There will also be two Sunday matinees, on November 16 and 23, at 2 pm.
The play is the story of Sidney Bruhl, a Broadway thriller writer, who is in the throes of a writerâs block. While conducting a writerâs seminar, a student sends him a script for a thriller that has the makings of a Broadway success. Sidneyâs wife convinces him to invite the young man to their home to offer to collaborate on the play and help make it the money making success they know it can be. However, things take a frightening turn and two deaths occur as a result.
The role of Sidney is being portrayed by Gary Nastu of Bridgeport, his wife Myra is portrayed by Kristi McKeever of Brookfield, the young man (Clifford Anderson) is portrayed by Michael Rodriguez-Torrent of Southbury. Also in the play is a psychic, Helga Tendorp, and lawyer Porter Milgrim, being portrayed by Ruth and Bart Schofield. The production is being directed by Suzanne Kinnear of Bethel who is also co-producing with husband Larry Kinnear.
Tickets for all evening shows are $12, and the matinee tickets are $10. Seating is by general admission.
