Newtown Scholarship Association Continuing Aid Recipients
The Newtown Scholarship Association (NSA) announces that the following 38 Newtown undergraduate students have been awarded a total of $90,500 in continuing aid to help further their college education.
Each year the NSA awards scholarships to graduating Newtown seniors, as well as continuing aid to undergraduates who have maintained a high academic standing and have demonstrated a need for financial assistance.
The following students received continuing aid scholarships: Brian Adams attends Vogel College and received the Vogel Scholarship; Krista Bell attends Princeton College and received the Strasburger Scholarship; Eric Bezler attends Penn State and received the LeGrow Scholarship; Melissa Bonacci attending WestConn and received the Bresson Scholarship and the Luf Scholarship; Melissa Burns attends Salve Regina and received the Rysz Scholarship and the Garden Club Scholarship; Carela Catigano attends Boston College and received the Carling Scholarship; Kristen Catigano attends Northeastern University and received the Knoepke Scholarship; David Clancy attends UConn and received the Gleason Scholarship; Jessica Clark attends Bucknell and received the Vogel Scholarship; Kelly Clark attends the University of Delaware and received the Bruner Scholarship; Erik Dawe attends Wesleyan and received the Rotary Scholarship; Nicholas DeLuca attends the University of Pittsburgh and received the Manfredonia and Dolan Scholarships; Kathleen Doyle attends Ithaca College and received the Lathrop Scholarship; Laura Ermini attends Stony Brook and received the Grasso Scholarship; Kara Henry attends Lafayette and received the Newtown Womenâs Club and Taunton Press Scholarships; David Howard attends the University of New Hampshire and received the Pryor and Adams Scholarships; Erin Lewis attends Virginia Tech and received the Newtown Savings Bank, Lamberty, and Borrello Scholarships; Diana Kim attends Boston University and received the Rotary, Allison, and Parker Scholarship; Sara Leddy attends Loyola College and received the Rosenthal Scholarship; Allison Lindquist attends Western New England College and received the Nawrocki Scholarship; Cassandra Lukeris attends the University of Rhode Island and received the Van Syckle and Richardson Scholarships; Erin MacKnight attends the University of New Hampshire and received the Wasserman and Frenkel Scholarships; Erik Martenson attends UConn and received the Paul Smith and Mazuroski Scholarship; Jason Mayo attends Columbia International University and received the Mularcik and Overhault Scholarships; Jessica McCallum attends Loyola and received the Platt Scholarship; Steven McCulloch attends Johnson Wales and received the Platt Scholarship; Amanda Morica attends Roger Williams and received the Lee Lin Hsin-Chin and Western Connecticut Federal Credit Union Scholarships; Cristian Petre attends UConn and received the RY Brown, Jr, Scholarship; Krista Reichert attends Skidmore and received the Newtown Savings Bank Scholarship; Brian Rekos attends Franklin Pierce and received the Morgan and Goosman Scholarships; Michael Rostafin attends Ithaca College and received the Badillo, Rodriguiz, and Friel Scholarships; Andrea Rustine attends Springfield College and received the Bruner, Willig and Overhault Scholarships; Jaclyn Shea attends Syracuse University and received the Vogel Scholarship; Cayenne Stahl attends Naugatuck Valley and received the Knoepke Scholarship; Glenn Stiewing attends Eastern Connecticut State University and received the Knoepke Scholarship; Spencer Swain attends the University of Rhode Island and received the Knoepke Scholarship; Grant Werbeck attends Fairfield University and received the Studley Scholarship; and Melissa Fornabia attends WestConn and received the Anderson, Hammond, and Strasburgers Scholarships.
Since its founding in 1937, the NSA has awarded almost $2 million in scholarships to more than 1,000 Newtown students. Thanks to generous financial support of the community, the NSA has enabled many worthy students to pursue their education and dreams beyond high school.
