Visions Of Shakespeare

NEW MILFORD — Fairies, witches, doomed lovers and Renaissance madrigal singers will grace the stage at Connecticut Conservancy of the Performing Arts during Shakespearean Dreams, a collage of monologue, dance and song based on the Bard’s work. Performances will be offered at the New Milford-based school November 17 and 18.

Highlights include a visit by Puck from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Balanchine choreography for Titania, Bottom and Helena, an operatic balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet, a theatrical collage of the women in Macbeth, original choreography based on characters from Macbeth and Othello, and a theater scene from Fortinbras offering a comic sendup of Shakespeare written by the Tony Award-winning playwright Lee Blessing.

Performances will be at 8 pm  in the conservatory’s studio at 79 West Street. Seating is limited so reservations are suggested; call 860/354-2978. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7 for children under 12.
