Million Moms Meet Nov 16

On Thursday, November 16, concerned community members are invited to attend a meeting of the Northern Fairfield County Chapter of the Million Mom March in Newtown. “Our chapter was formed in response to the epidemic of gun violence in this country,” says Linda Payne-DeSarro, chairperson. “This fall we educated voters about the candidates’ stands on the issues and we will continue our advocacy for sensible gun laws.”

The meeting will be held in the Edmond Town Hall in Newtown from 7:30 to 9 pm. Participants will learn about the goals and structure of the new organization and hear of opportunities to participate in upcoming chapter events. Membership applications will be available for anyone interested in joining, and refreshments will be served.
