Grief Group Hosts

‘Coping With The Holidays’

BRIDGEPORT — A presentation on “Coping With the Holidays” is the program of the next meeting of the “We Care” Perinatal Grief Support Group of St Vincent’s Medical Center on Wednesday, November 15, from 7 to 8:15 pm in St Vincent’s Ambulatory Infusion Center on the main level.

The featured speaker is counselor Betty Meinhofer, MSW, of St Vincent’s Family Health Center.

On Wednesday, December 20, the group will hold a “Candlelight Service of Remembrance” from 7 to 8:15 in St Vincent’s Chapel for anyone who has suffered the loss of a baby before birth, at birth, or after birth. Friends and family are also invited to attend.

The “We Care” Perinatal Grief Support Group, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month, is for those grieving the loss of a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillborn, or newborn death. The group is facilitated by both a chaplain and a counselor trained in the area of perinatal grief. There is no charge for attendance, but pre-registration is requested.

To register or for additional information, call Sister Joann in the Pastoral Care Department at 203/576-5110.
