Flute-Harp Duo Is NextIn St Stephen’s Series

RIDGEFIELD — On Sunday, November 12, at 4 pm, the flute/harp duo Elyrica will appear in concert at St Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 351 Main Street (Route 35). The duo consists of harpist Wendy Kerner and flutist Angela Kelly. Their program will include works by Vaughan-Williams, Rodrigo, Debussy and Chaminade.

Wendy Kerner Lucas was presented in her New York debut in Carnegie Recital Hall as a winner of the Artists International Chamber Music Competition. Her CD Sounds of the Seine has been released on the Delos label to critical acclaim. Described as “first-rate” by The New York Times, Ms Kerner has toured extensively throughout the United States and has performed at the World Harp Congress in Paris and for Queen Sirikit of Thailand.

Angela Kelly is featured as principal flute with Musica Antiqua on The Lives and Times of Angels, the latest CD release with composer and organist Anthony Newman. A 1995 Bach Aria fellow, she was a prizewinner in the 1996 Louise D. McMahon International Instrumental Competition.

The harp/flute duo Elyrica has been featured in concerts, educational programs and workshops across the country. They combine the spirit and elan of charismatic performers with the beauty and lyricism of their extraordinary instruments.
