An Inspired Idea

To the Editor:

We’d like to thank Christina Sanchez and her parents, Heliett and Michael Sanchez, for the inspired idea of turning Christina’s 10th birthday party into an opportunity to help other children in Newtown. Christina suggested that the guests attending her party make a contribution to Caroline’s Gift, a fund that was established four years ago to aid Newtown families coping with the financial burden of caring for a sick or disabled child.

Many thanks to all of Christina’s friends who celebrated her birthday by making a donation to Caroline’s Gift, ensuring its existence as an enduring charitable resource in our community.
