A Lighter Touch From

Danbury Concert Chorus

DANBURY — Danbury Concert Chorus is shifting into “light mode” with its autumn concert of “(some of) Our Favorite Tunes.”

The entire program will consist of hummable and danceable songs by composers ranging from George Gershwin and Cole Porter to the Everly Brothers and even some light songs by Haydn (this unhappily married man wrote a commentary on marriage) and Brahms, who once wrote a drinking song.

Also on the program is The Seasonings by P.D.Q. Bach, J.S. Bach’s ne’er-do-well younger brother who wrote strictly humorous music including The Seasonings, a parody on the much more famous The Seasons.

Among those performing in “(some of) Our Favorite Tunes” will be the vocalists Leslie Huston and Harlan Jessup, both of Newtown.

The free concert will be performed on Sunday, November 19, at Rogers Park Middle School at 3 pm. For additional information call Danbury Music Centre at 748-1716.
