Family: My wife, Jennifer, of 31 years. We also have our two sons, David Jr and his wife Hallie, and Nick and his wife Natalie, and their identical twins Lola and Summer, who are just a few weeks old. They all live in Newtown. My mom Elaine also lives in town.

How did you meet your wife? We met at a mutual friend’s house. We went sleigh riding the next night.

Pets: Zoe, an eight-year-old terrier-beagle mix.

Career: I’m a local Realtor with ReMax Right Choice.

Do you have any nicknames? I actually go by Dave because my oldest son is David.

How long have you lived in Newtown? This is our 24th year, and our fourth house, all on dirt roads.

What do you like to do in your free time? I like to go snowmobiling, fishing with my sons, and spending time at our cabin in the Adirondacks.

Are you part of any local clubs and/or organizations? I’m on the Newtown Board of Realtors. I am a past president and currently serving as secretary with that board. I’m also on Newtown Planning & Zoning Commission; a member of Newtown Lions Club — currently Car Committee chair; and I’m also on the Connecticut Association of Realtors Legislative Committee.

Do you have any unusual or surprising talents? I spent 34 years in the automotive business, and I can tell you almost anything that’s wrong with a car just by driving it around the block.

Favorite actor? Clint Eastwood

Favorite movie? The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Favorite movie genre? Documentaries.

Favorite food? A good steak done on the grill.

What is something you cannot live without? Managing my free time with my family.

Pet peeves? People that are late.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? The Adirondacks.

If you could spend the day with one person, living or deceased, who would you choose and why? Henry Ford. As I mentioned, before real estate I was in the auto business for 35 years, and it would be interesting to see the early innovations and assembly lines he worked on.

Who or what has been the greatest influence on your life? My mom.

What is your proudest accomplishment? Raising my two sons.

What is your favorite thing about Newtown? The people and the small-town feel.

What is something you’d like to see The Newtown Bee cover, or cover further? I’d like to read more about how the average citizen in town can find out how to get involved in things.

Do you have a personal credo? Be the person your dog thinks you are.
