In A Pool Of Their Own

Every year the Connecticut Swimming organization recognizes the top 16 swimmers in each event for their age group. An award ceremony was held at the Aquaturf Club in Plantsville on November 1. Among the recipients of the awards, which include a plaque and a personalized jacket, were four Newtown athletes: Tommy Horan, 10; Dawson Stout, 10; Hannah Makris, 11, and Matthew Iassogna, 17. Iassogna received a scholar athlete award for his excellence in the classroom as well as the pool.
