A Wonderful Spirit Of Community

To the Editor:

To Pastor Barry, Pastor Adam, and all the volunteers of Grace Christian Fellowship — thank you so very much for a once again spectacular Halloween production. Both my nephews, 22 months and 3 years, who traveled a long distance to experience Newtown’s Halloween, were in awe of your neon singing puppet prophets. They were the highlight of the evening. They were captivating and mesmerizing and the spirit of God hung over all the people who stopped to see your production. You exhibited a wonderful spirit of community, and you normalized an otherwise “scary and mischievous holiday.”

Since we park at the Edmond Town Hall every year, you are the first and last “scene” that we experience. Our evening begins and ends with the hope and peace of your wonderful display. Even if we were scared along our Halloween routes, it was only temporary because your church was present with its message of peace and hope. My 10-year-old son and his friend were great customers at your game stations! The coffee and donuts that were free flowing all evening were enjoyed by all.

Thank you for your generosity and community spirit. You truly make Newtown’s Halloween on Main Street a very special and memorable event year after year!
