Margaret G. Stampp

Margaret Anna Louise (Gutknecht) Stampp, born August 29, 1915, in Stetin, Germany, died November 4.

Mrs Stampp grew up in Berlin, Germany, came to America with her family as a young girl, married her late husband, Karl, and lived most of her life in Elmont, N.Y., before moving to Heritage Village in Southbury, where she lived for 15 years.

She spent her retirement years volunteering for the Lutheran Home of Southbury and Waterbury Hospital; she was a retired worker of Local 1199, Hospital Workers Union, of New York.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susi and Jeff Berta of Grand Prairie, Tex, and a son and daughter-in law, Robert and Bonnie Stampp of Fairfield. She was known as “Oma” to her six grandchildren, Scott Stampp of Newtown, Heidi Wilson of Ransom Canyon, Tex, Tim Stampp of Slidell, Karl Berta of Richardson, Tex, Todd Stampp of Southbury, and Jordan Berta of Grand Prairie, Tex, as well as five great-grandchildren, Keller and Davis Wilson, Addison Berta, and Jonathan and Matthew Stampp.

A memorial service is planned in the future. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut in Danbury.

The Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, Main Street South, Woodbury, is in charge of arrangements.
