Lions Pancake Breakfast To Benefit Sept. 11 Victims

The Newtown Lions Club is planning to hold a pancake breakfast on Saturday, November 17, at the Newtown United Methodist Church on Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook to benefit the victims of the World Trade Center disaster.

The breakfast will feature pancakes, sausage, applesauce, juice, coffee, tea, milk, and hot cocoa.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for children ages 12 and under; no charge for children under the age of two. Tickets are available at the door or from Lions Club members.

“We are still researching the best way to get the funds to the people directly impacted by the disaster,” said breakfast co-chairman Paul Arneth. “Newtowners can rest assured that whichever fund is most reliable in rushing help to the people will be the one we choose.”

The other co-chairman of the event is Jon Christensen. Committee members include Tony Ratzing, Ken Hostetler, Oscar Siller, Dr Joseph Young, Jim Manville, and Skip Sims.
