Kelly O’Connor of Newtown is a student at Westover School and has been named a Commended National Merit Scholar.

Canterbury School has named two local students to the first marking period honor roll. Adam Hopkins, son of Trevor and Irene Hopkins of Newtown, is a junior and Marty Schnurr, son of Martin and Susan Schnurr of Sandy Hook, is a sophomore.
