Former US Ambassador To Speak At Fairfield University
FAIRFIELD â Richard Holbrooke, former US Ambassador to the United Nations, will speak at Fairfield University on Monday, November 12, at 7:30 pm, when Open VISIONS and the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Center for Judaic Studies present the fourth annual Jacoby-Lunin Humanitarian Lectureship, âHumanitarian Challenges to World Diplomacy Past, Present and Future.â
Mr Holbrooke most recently served as the US Ambassador to the United Nations where he was also a member of President Clintonâs cabinet, from 1999 to 2001. In that capacity and in other positions, he played a vital role in the development of US policy toward the United Nations, the Balkans, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and humanitarian crisis issues such as AIDS.
