No Left Turn

To the Editor:

No left turn, what a nice sight! The State Department of Transportation has just installed three “No Left” signs at the intersection of Route 34 westbound and Old Mill Road.

We would like to thank the Newtown Police Commission and especially Acting Chief Michael Kehoe for listening and acting upon our safety concerns over this dangerous intersection. It was Michael Kehoe’s tireless and diligent efforts acting as a liaison with the State DOT that made this happen. We are confident that we speak for the many, many Route 34 drivers when we express our gratitude.

It is comforting to know that you can make a difference even in just a small part of your world.
