Ticket, Infraction Fines Can Now Be Paid On The Web
HARTFORD â The State of Connecticut recently instituted an online system for individuals who want to pay fines for tickets or infractions they receive for motor vehicle and other qualifying charges. Anyone receiving a motor vehicle ticket or a criminal infractions ticket may now pay their fine through the Judicial Branchâs website at www.jud.ct.gov.
âOnline bill paying has become commonplace for many,â said Judge Barbara Quinn, chief court administrator. âI am pleased that our website has been enhanced to allow this service. I want to stress, however, that individuals may still plead not guilty, or they may mail in their fine or pay in person at the Centralized Infractions Bureau if they so choose.â
To pay a ticket online, individuals will be asked to enter their complaint ticket number, and then their name and the amount of the ticket will be displayed. If the information is correct, payment may be made by credit card.
If the ticket information is not displayed, individuals should try again in three days.
As in the case of payment by mail, payment online will be considered a plea of nolo contendere (no contest). While no points are assessed against an individualâs driverâs license by the State of Connecticut, the conviction will appear on his or her driver history, and the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles may impose administrative sanctions.
