Sandy Hook’s Moskowitz To Run Marathon For A Good Cause

Marsha Moskowitz of Sandy Hook will run the ING New York City Marathon, this Sunday, November 7, not only for the thrill of completing a 26.2-mile run. She is part of the Shoe4Africa fundraising team.

Moskowitz, 54, has previously run the Rochester Marathon in New York in 2007, and the Walt Disney Marathon in Orlando, Fla., in 2009.

Moskowitz was born and raised in Manhattan and her mother, Regina, still lives in the apartment where Moskowitz grew up.

Shoe4Africa, which started in 1995 in an effort to provide discarded shoes to those who could not afford them, has developed into a charity for HIV/AIDS awareness, to improve education and health, and promote women’s empowerment and peace.
