Horse Guard Trail Ride Saturday
Horse Guard Trail Ride Saturday
This Saturday, November 6, troopers from the Second Company Governorâs Horse Guard (2GHG) will host a benefit trail ride for the Connecticut Childrenâs Medical Center on the grounds of its Fairfield Hills headquarters. This event is open to all horse owners.
Riders will complete the eight-mile trail ride at their own pace. There are trails along fields and through wooded areas and there is a stream crossing. All riders are asked to obtain a pledge sheet to raise funds and all proceeds will go directly to the Childrenâs Medical Center. Riders under the age of 18 must have a release form signed by a parent or guardian and all riders are asked to wear safety helmets. Proof of current Coggins and rabies vaccinations must be provided for each horse.
Riders will be able to park their trailers on 2GHG property and troopers will monitor all street crossings. This is an opportunity to have access to this beautiful and well-maintained system of trails and contribute to a worthy cause.
Registration forms for the ride may be picked up at the 2GHG headquarters or downloaded at www.thehorseguard.org. For information, including start times, call 203-426-9046. 2GHG troopers and mounts remain, as always, âReady To Serve.â
