Help In A Bad Situation
Help In A Bad Situation
To the Editor:
I was planning on voting today at Edmond Town Hall. I park in the handicapped area, since I utilize a motorized wheelchair and van. As I was transferring from the passengerâs seat to the wheelchair in rear of the van, the arm snapped off, resulting in my falling to the floor of the van. The wheelchair was at this point inoperable, I was unable to stand on my own, so I phoned for an ambulance.
Within a few minutes a âteamâ of volunteers, both men and women, responded to the call. Their assessment of what needed to be done to get me back into the driverâs seat was very thorough. Yet at the same time, they were all extremely kind, compassionate and caring individuals, who accomplished their job with âwonderful teamwork.â Once they were assured that I was safely back in the driverâs seat and was without any physical injuries, they said goodbye and returned to their âregular duties.â
So this is my opportunity to thank those men and women who responded today and helped me out of a bad situation. I feel lucky to live in a community where we have individuals who give so freely of themselves to help others. Thank you for all you do for so many.
Blessings,
