*Magic School Bus illustrator Bruce Degen: Mark your calendars!
On Saturday, November 6, at 2 pm, world renowned author illustrator Bruce Degen will be at the library to talk about his latest Magic School Bus offering on global warming, The Magic School Bus and The Climate Challenge.
We are very fortunate to have such an esteemed talent living in our community. Mr Degen will talk about the creative process and the research he did for the book. Copies of Climate Challenge will be available for purchase following the presentation, which is recommended for ages 7 to adult.Â
*George Seurat and Pointillism: Artist and educator Randi Rote will explain Pointillism and the works of artist George Seurat on Wednesday, November 10, at 4:15 pm, for ages 5-9.
Participants will create their own masterpieces in the artistâs signature style. Online registration is requested, and a $3 material fee is due on the day of the program.
*Thanksgiving Craft with Marie Walker: Stuff a pillow for Thanksgiving on Monday, November 15, at 4:15 pm.
Ages 6-9 are invited to make a small pillow that says Give Thanks. A $3 material fee is due on the day of the program, but registration should be done online in advance.
Programs For                 Young Adults
*Book Launch: On Saturday, November 13, from 1 to 2:30, meet author Kathleen Kudlinski at her book launch party for her spectacular new book about wildlife and Native Americans, Horse Indian Wolf.
This family program for kids age 7 and up features a slide show, Native American craft, snacks, and face painting, and includes a book signing, with copies of the book available to purchase for $17. All proceeds benefit the library.
*Young Writers Salonâ will return on Sunday, November 14, at 3 pm.
Writers in grades 6-10 will read their original poems and short stories to an admiring audience in our coffeehouse setting.

Adult Programs
*âMark Twain, A Book Discussion Seriesâ with Julie Stern: In this year that will see the publication of Twainâs autobiography, so scandalous that it was kept under wraps for 100 years after his death, we have been reading and discussing classic works by Mark Twain to rediscover why he may well be the greatest American novelist.
Join us for the series finale on Wednesday, November 10, at 7:30, for a program about A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurâs Court.
*Book Groups: The Daytime Book Group will talk about How To Be Good by Nick Hornby on Tuesday, November 9, at 1; The Evening Book Discussion Group will meet Thursday, November 18, at 7:30, to discuss John Irvingâs Last Night at Twisted River.
Newcomers are always welcome at any of the libraryâs book discussion groups.
