An Invitation

To Increase Personal ‘Intimacy With God’

On Saturday, November 13, from 9 am to 3 pm, Trinity Episcopal Church will host “Closing the Gap: The Invitation to Intimacy with God.” The Reverend Martin Smith will lead the program.

During a quiet day, participants will be invited to take some of the lessons learned from the rewards and struggles of human intimacy and use them to gain a better understanding of their relationship with God. Through reflection and prayer, attendees will explore ways of experiencing God’s closeness, and steps that can be taken to get over the inhibitions and misconceptions that can make God seem distant.

Martin L. Smith has been a priest for 38 years. He is well known throughout the Episcopal Church as a writer and teacher, dedicated to exploring a contemporary spirituality that is open to new knowledge as well as the riches of the mystical tradition.
