Shaun Cavanaugh of Newtown has helped the Wheaton College men’s soccer team earn the second seed in the NCAA Division III tournament. Wheaton captured its second NEWMAC title recently. Cavanaugh has scored 14 goals and assisted on 21 others and leads the NEWMAC with a 1.85 points per game average. Cavanaugh has scored seven game-winning goals and is closing in on the school’s single-season record of 18 goals.
