Many local offices and businesses will be closed in observance of Veterans Day, a federal holiday, on Thursday, November 11.

All town offices will be closed on Thursday.

Newtown Senior Center and C.H. Booth Library will be closed in observance of the holiday.

The transfer station at the former landfill on Ethan Allen Road will be closed.

Veterans Day is a postal holiday, so there will be no mail delivery, and USPS offices will be closed for the day.

The office of The Newtown Bee will be open.

Deadlines for the November 12, 2021, print edition of The Newtown Bee will be affected by Veterans Day.

Items for the Business, Education, Sports, and Health sections must be received no later than noon Monday, November 8.

General news, calendar, Enjoy and Letters to the Editor must be received by noon Tuesday, November 9.

Real estate display ads are due by 10 am Monday, November 8, for the November 12 print edition.

Regular display (non-real estate) ads are also due by Monday at 10 am.

In-column real estate ads are also due by Monday at 10.

Regular classified ads are due by 1 pm Tuesday, November 9.
