To the Editor:

I’m writing to share my enthusiastic recommendation for the re-election of Todd Higgins for the Board of Education.

I have had the good fortune of working with Todd in his capacity as an entrepreneur, advisor and legal counselor for the last several years. We have worked on difficult and complex issues during times of prosperity and times of incredible difficulty, and I can proudly attest that his unique blend of compassionate leadership with exceptionally high standards would be a huge asset for the BOE.

Todd knows first-hand the challenges of facing structural disadvantages in education, and his success in rising above his means ensures there will seldom be a scenario where he has not personally experienced multiple “sides” of an issue. In today’s world, it’s difficult to stand for exceptionalism while also balancing equity; Todd has been and will be a champion for the importance of both values.

As a parent to four young elementary-aged children, I’m personally invested in ensuring that they receive an education that shapes them into true global citizens, armed with the critical thinking skills and reasoning to engage in smart, rational problem-solving while genuinely seeking to make a positive impact on the world around them. Todd unequivocally has the knowledge, skill and ambition to positively impact the future of education in the community during this critical moment.

Please support his re-election.

Sincerely,

Andy Hooper
