'Connecting To Your Extended Family Using DNA," Nov 9 At Library

Nora Galvin will be the guest speaker on Wednesday, November 9, when The Genealogy Club of Newtown hosts its next meeting.

Ms Galvin will present a program on "Connecting To Your Extended Family Using DNA."

Genealogy club program meetings are held at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street. The programs begin at 7 pm, but those planning to attend are encouraged to arrive around 6:45 to enjoy networking and light refreshments.

Working as "Aunt Lizzie's Trunk" Nora Galvin has wide knowledge of a number of research specialties.  She specializes in not only DNA, but in immigration and emigration, Irish American research and other European areas in the time periods of 17th. 18th, and 19th Centuries.

Based in Bridgeport, Ms Galvin covers the geographic areas of research in New York and the New England area.  She is a member of the Connecticut Professional Genealogical Council, is the president of The Ancestry Society, and is on the publication committee for the Connecticut Society of Genealogists.
