BETHEL — Ben’s Bells Connecticut will host a Girls Night Out on Thursday, November 12, at its new studio, 32 Stony Hill Road.

The event will run from 6:30 until 9 pm. Entrance is around the back of the building, from the upper driveway.

At this monthly event, guests will discover the background story and mission of Ben’s Bells and learn about kindness education programming. Guests will also be invited to paint Kindness Coins or beads to be used to create future bells. No artistic ability is needed.

Light refreshments will be served; feel free to BYOB. There will also be chances to win Ben’s Bells raffle prizes.

Donation is $10 per person. Registration is required, but seating is open, so arrive early.

The mission of Ben’s Bells is to inspire, educate, and motivate people to realize the impact of intentional kindness, and to empower individuals to act according to that awareness, thereby strengthening ourselves, our relationships and our communities.

Ben’s Bells Project was founded in 2003 after the sudden death of Jeannette Maré’s two-year old son, Ben. The simple, everyday acts of kindness following his death helped Ms Maré survive and begin to heal. She was inspired to establish the Ben’s Bells Project as a way to recognize and continue the kindness shown to her. On the first anniversary of Ben’s death, 400 bells were hung in public places for strangers to find. To date more than 47,000 bells have been hung in Tucson and beyond.

Newtown as a community was introduced to the project in January 2013, when more than 1,000 Ben’s Bells were hung around town for residents to discover in the wake of 12/14. A Newtown studio, the first Ben’s Bells studio to open outside Arizona, operated at 17 Church Hill Road from July 2013 until July 2015. The studio relocated to its new location in Bethel, and formally opened August 22.

In addition to bell distributions, Ben’s Bells Project provides kindness education programming for more than 300 schools, organizations and businesses.
