Turkey Shoot

The 14th annual Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot, sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, will be held Saturday, November 18, starting at 9 am, at the Newtown Middle School ‘A’ gym. Cost is $10 per team (one adult and one child). Teams will compete for the highest foul-shooting score in three rounds and the winning team in each division will go home with a turkey just in time for Thanksgiving. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Campership Fund. Times will be 9 to 9:45 am (ages 5 and under and 6-8) and 10 to 10:45 am (ages 9-12 and 13 and over).

 

Hockey/Skating Registrations

Northwestern Connecticut Youth Hockey is opening registrations for hockey and skating programs – Learn to Skate (ages 4 and up), Learn to Skate + Hockey (ages 4 to 8), Novice Hockey (ages 4 to 8) and Squirt Short Season (ages 9 to 10). Programs run from mid-November through February and will be offered at the Gunnery School in Washington and Canterbury School in New Milford.
