Buick Vs Lincoln
Police report an accident between a 1988 Buick LeSabre and a 2000 Lincoln Continental about 4 pm October 29 at the intersection of Church Hill Road and Commerce Road.
Police said motorist Robert J. Thatcher, 46, of Ridgefield, who was driving the Lincoln, was eastbound on Church Hill Road and was beginning to slow down for a red light.
Motorist Sally A. Harris, 56, of Middlefield, who was driving the Buick just behind the Lincoln, saw the Lincoln slowing down and applied the brakes, but due to wet road conditions caused by snowfall, the Buick started to slide and struck the rear end of the Lincoln, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Harris a written warning for following too closely.
Deer On Queen
Police said motorist Kacy Pettway, 36, of Stratford, who was driving a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix coupe northbound on Queen Street about 10 pm October 26, saw a deer enter the road, strike the Pontiac, and then run off into the woods. Pettway was not injured, police said.
South Main Collision
Police report a two-car accident on southbound South Main Street at Country Club Road about 8:30 am October 29.
Motorist Charles E. Walsh, 68, of Brookfield, who was driving a 1998 Subaru Impreza station wagon, turned to the right and struck the left side of a 1993 Acura Integra driven by Rob Grasseler, 20, of 22 Taunton Lake Road, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Walsh a written warning for making an improper turn.
Chain Reaction
A chain reaction accident involving three vehicles occurred about 5 pm October 23 on Church Hill Road, near the Exit 10 interchange of Interstate 84.
The accident involved motorist Frank W. Haight, Jr, 43, of Shelton, who was driving a 1992 Plymouth Voyager minivan; Kelly Dong, 32, of 6 Pomperaug Avenue, Sandy Hook, who was driving a 1995 Nissan Maxima; and Karen E. Biserni-Yao, 39, of Danbury, who was driving a 2000 Honda Civic, police said. All three vehicles were eastbound on Church Hill Road when the chain-reaction accident occurred, police said.
Police said Biserni-Yao was transported to Danbury Hospital to be treated for neck pain. Police issued Haight an infraction ticket on a charge of following too closely.
Moving Violations
Police report they observed motorist Daniel Cassese, 29, of New Milford drive a Saturn automobile over the center line of Botsford Hill Road about 12:40 pm November 2. Police said that on seeing the oncoming vehicle approaching them head-on in the wrong lane, they slammed on the brakes and the Saturn returned to the proper lane.
Police said they stopped the Saturn and issued Cassese a ticket listing charges of operating a motor vehicle while under suspension and failure to keep to the right. Police released him on a promise to appear November 22 in Danbury Superior Court.
Route 34 MVA
Motorist Alexandria H. Leuzzi, 16, of 10 Kent Road, who was driving a 1998 Audi 4-2 westbound on Route 34 near Pole Bridge Road about 11:15 pm October 28, slowed to yield to a turning vehicle, police said. Motorist William C. Russo, 19, of Brookfield, who was driving a 1994 Honda Accord behind the Audi, struck the rear end of the Audi, police said. There were no injuries.
Police issued Russo a written warning for following too closely.
Car, Truck And Deer
Police said motorist Kelly Reutzel, 17, of 2 Moccasin Trail was driving a 1987 Ford Escort eastbound on Riverside Road about 1:25 am November 4, when a deer ran in front of the Ford, causing Reutzel to stop suddenly.
Motorist Robert E. Melko, 20, of Oxford, who was driving a 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup truck behind the Ford, could not stop in time and struck the Ford from behind, police said.
Reutzel reported head and neck pain and was transported to Danbury Hospital by the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps for treatment, police said.
Police issued Melko an infraction ticket on a charge of following too closely.

Two Daytop Escapes
State police said two residents at the Daytop substance abuse rehabilitation center in Greenwich House at Fairfield Hills left the facility without permission and did not return, constituting two cases of escape from the institution because the two were sent to Daytop under the auspices of the state Department of Correction. State police said they learned of the incident at 12:07 am November 6.
Missing from Daytop are Lucas Bell, 18, of Middletown, and Denisha Fondeur, 16, of Stamford, according to state police.
State police said the direction of travel and destination of the two are unknown.
I-84 DUI
State police said they observed motorist Amindejit S. Gakhal, 28, of Stratford driving erratically on eastbound Interstate 84, west of Exit 10, about 12:56 am November 4.
State police charged Gakhal with driving under the influence and failure to drive in the established lane.
State police released Gakhal on a $500 non-surety bond for an appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Garner
State police report they charged Garner Correctional Institution inmate Robert G. Ransom, 43, on a warrant November 3 at Danbury Superior Court. The warrant lists a charge of assault on a correction officer, state police said. Ransom was arraigned on the charge.

Main Street DUI
Police report they observed motorist Bennie D. Penn, 40, of Danbury driving erratically northbound on Main Street about 4:45 pm on November 6. Police said they stopped Penn and gave him field sobriety tests which he failed.
Police charged Penn with driving under the influence, failure to drive to the right, and having an expired automotive emissions sticker.
After processing, police released Penn on a promise to appear November 21 in Danbury Superior Court.
Warrant
Police said they served an arrest warrant against Ivy Sailer, 17, of New Milford November 7 at the police station, listing charges of first-degree failure to appear in court, third-degree larceny, and interfering with a police officer.
Police said the charges stem from a July 19 incident in which they recovered a stolen automobile. Ms Sailer was held on a $750 bond for a November 7 arraignment in Danbury Superior Court.

    Sandy Hook Crash
Police report motorist Robert W. Fiorillo, 17, of 46 Algonquin Trail was driving a 1988 Chevrolet Camaro southbound on Lakeview Terrace near Gelding Hill Rd about 4:40 pm Nov 2 when he swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle, but in doing so, he lost control of the auto and went off the road, striking a tree. Police said Fiorillo was not injured.
Three SUVs
Police report that three sport-utility vehicles were involved in an accident at the intersection of South Main Street and Country Club Road about 5 am November 3.
The accident involved Deborah Fehey, 43, of Richmond, Va., who was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer; Rosemary Savo, 48, of 17 Pebble Road, who was driving a 1999 Jeep Wrangler; and Naomi Bonsignore, 46, of 9 Yogananda Street, who was driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There were no injuries. Police issued Fehey a written warning for making a restricted turn.
