Malenkee Dancers Will Join Nutmeg Opera Sat. For ‘Rigoletto’

DANBURY — Artistic Director Marsha Ismailoff Mark is pleased to announce that principal dancers Melissa Saint and Jennifer Johnston from the Malenkee Ballet Repertoire Company of Newtown have been invited to perform for the Nutmeg Opera Company’s performance of Rigoletto on Saturday, November 6.

The full production of the Verdi opera will be presented in Western Connecticut State University’s Ives Concert Hall, at 181 White Street in Danbury. Curtain is at 7:30 pm.

Mrs Mark has especially choreographed a “tarantella” for Nutmeg Opera to be presented in Act I. Mrs Saint and Ms Johnston performed with Nutmeg last season in Die Fliedermauss.

Mrs Mark founded Malenkee Ballet Repertoire Company, a non-profit ballet company with the goal of introducing children and adults to the world of ballet, while training her dancers through a small performing company. Since 1976, both she and company dancers have been bringing cultural educational dance programs to schools, libraries and convalescent homes throughout the surrounding communities.

Further information on availability for Malenkee and its repertoire can be obtained by calling the studio at 426-0698 or Mary Tomasiewicz at 270-0019. For details on ticket reservations and costs for Saturday’s performance of Rigoletto, call 753-0572.
