Getting Ready For The Holiday Season
Getting Ready For The Holiday Season
Now that the month of November has begun, many thoughts turn to finding the snow shovel and going up to the attic in search of favorite holiday decorations. For anyone who would like to add some new festive touches to their home and table, or if some skills such as tying the perfect bow for holiday gifts have always been elusive, C.H. Booth Library has the perfect program planned.
âGetting Ready for the Holiday Seasonâ will take place on Wednesday, November 17, from 10 am to noon in the new meeting room of the library, at 25 Main Street in Newtown.
Claudia Kraich will give a hands-on demonstration on making bows suitable for gift packages or baskets. With the wonderful assortment of ribbons currently available, Mrs Kraich says everyone can enjoy creating beautiful packages that look quite professional.
Joanne Keane will offer some simple but sophisticated ways to dress up a dining table using fabric and lights. Mrs Keane believes in making use of what is already on hand, while combining materials in new and creative ways.
After the talk refreshments will be served and there will be time for questions and sharing of ideas.
A $5 supply fee will be charged, and pre-registration is requested. The library can be reached at 426-4533.
