To the Editor:

On November 7 you have a unique opportunity to vote for a very qualified and conscientious candidate. Bruce Walczak is running as an independent. The designation after anyone’s name shouldn’t matter, in my opinion, as far as local politics goes. What matters is what the person stands for and represents, what his long-standing record of volunteering and service means.

I began working with Bruce a number of years ago while I was in the VNA and we joined forces with the Newtown Lions to bring the best eye screening machine to all the local preschools and schools. Bruce has always had our community’s best interest at heart in all his volunteer endeavors. He volunteers his time and his talents in so many ways. He will represent our students, the faculty, and the parents with an eye towards protecting and enhancing academia for our children.

Unfortunately, having moved out of Newtown, I can’t vote for him, but if you can, I encourage you to vote for Bruce Walczak on Election Day!
