Update: The championship game is scheduled for Thursday, November 4 at neutral site New Milford High, starting at 7 pm.

Newtown High School's field hockey team edged visiting Masuk of Monroe 1-0 in overtime in the South-West Conference Tournament semifinals on November 2.

Reagan Schoen put home a pass from Izzy Butler with 4:02 remaining in the first ten-minute, seven on seven OT period to end things. With the win, the Nighthawks advance to the Thursday, November 4 championship game. Newtown will face Joel Barlow of Redding (site and time to be determined).

This marked the second 1-0 overtime win over Masuk for Newtown this fall.
