Field Hockey Team Blanks Barlow In SWC Quarters

The top-seeded Newtown High School field hockey team shut out eighth-seeded Joel Barlow of Redding 6-0 in the South-West Conference Tournament quarterfinals at Blue & Gold Stadium on November 2.
Kat Trammel scored a hat-trick, Katie Goyda scored twice, and Izzy Butler also scored for the Nighthawks.
Goyda, Aniko Walsh, and Katie Dirga each had an assist.
Newtown will host New Milford in the semifinals on Tuesday, November 5 at 6 pm. The championship will take place Thursday, November 7 at neutral site Brookfield High, starting at 7 pm.
