Programs Preview

Unity in Diversity is a weekly television program featuring interviews with leaders and representatives of faith communities in the local area. Its purpose is to enable all people to come to a better understanding of the history and beliefs of their neighbors in a nonthreatening manner.

Programs are aired on Mondays at noon and Wednesdays at 5:30 pm on the Charter Communications community access station (Channel 21).

The producer and moderator for the series is the Reverend Leo McIlrath, Dmin, of Sandy Hook, chaplain to the Lutheran Home of Southbury and a member of Corpus, an Ecumenical Catholic Community.

The program scheduled for November 5 and 7 will feature “The Congregational Church: Its History and Daily Practice of Prayer and Action.”

Other upcoming programs and their featured subjects and/or interviews include: November 12 and 14, the Reverend Timothy Crowley, Central Christian Church of Christ’s Disciples; November 19 and 21, The Greater Danbury Interfaith Thanksgiving Service; December 3 and 5, “A Visit with The Friends: Quakerism in Western Connecticut”; and December 10 and 12, The Islamic Society of Western Connecticut.
