To the Editor:

I write you today because I am happy to say that Newtown is fortunate to have Donna Monteleone running for the Board of Education under the Independent Party as a Republican write- in.

I have known Donna at least 20 years as a true friend and colleague. She has always remained committed to all she does and promises to do. For example, this past Valentine’s Day, she was responsible for recruiting her children’s schoolmates to writing valentines to our soldiers. She, being a product of military service at one time, had a great sense of the need and purpose and made this happen.

You find her conscientiousness contagious. She evidences awesome task master skills polished by her time in the military and her previous professional ties in project management. I have worked alongside her to get funds raised for her church by having a silent auction/quiz night. It was a successful and fun evening for all and the parish was quite happy with the funds raised.

She is able to carry her weight and make things happen!
