When Tuesday comes we hope that all the people in Newtown will make the time to go and vote. It is our right and privilege and not something that should be ignored and taken advantage of. For weeks now we have read, with great interest, many opinions and endorsements here in The Letter Hive and felt the need to write.

Three years ago, we were very fortunate to have new neighbors settle in next door. Brendan Duffy and his family moved in and we have been grateful ever since. Immediately it was evident that Brendan had a keen interest in the town and all the inner workings of the town’s issues. Through him, we’ve learned a great deal and gained a much better understanding of what’s taking place in Newtown as well as the pluses and minuses of decisions that were being made that affected us all.

Chances are you have read some of Brendan’s letters covering a variety of topics from local issues, to national issues, to a heartfelt letter by his entire family about losing a close friend, their family pet. Brendan’s running for the seat on the Legislative Council in District 3. We hope, when November 6 arrives, that you will vote for Brendan as we certainly will. He is not a politician, but a hardworking and loving, caring family man with a great interest in making things better in the town we all live in. He has a keen sense to detail, a great understanding of local issues, and probably, most important of all, a great desire to listen and try and make life better for all of us who live in Newtown.

Admittedly, we don’t know all the candidates running on Tuesday and we do not know them personally, but when the time comes and you are making your voting decision, it’s our belief that Brendan Duffy is the type of person you’ll want in your corner.
