To the Editor:
Dan Amaral has been a valuable member of our Legislative Council for the past four years. He is easily accessible to the taxpayers. Many taxpayers cannot make the meetings, however, they are able to stop in and talk to Dan. It is no wonder that for the last two years Dan told the Legislative Council what it would take to get the budget passed. He couldnât get the motion supported, so we went through many referenda until we finally got them passed. Guess what, Danâs original motion is what ultimately passed. Why? Because he is listening to the voters. Not just the loud vocal ones that show up at budget time but also the ones that canât or wonât go to the meetings. We are very lucky to have such an accessible member.
Dan is a native Newtowner. This community is extremely important to him. He knows the history and what makes this town so special. He is working to maintain the integrity of the town. He is looking at things realistically instead of emotionally.
We are also very lucky to have two other effective, hard working incumbents willing to run again in District 3. Will Rodgers and Jeff Cappeci have been dedicated, levelheaded members of the Legislative Council. They are working in a bi-partisan way to preserve the character of Newtown.
We need the experience, availability, and bipartisanship of these three incumbents to help preserve the Newtown we love. Please join me on November 6 and vote for Newtown â vote Amaral, Rodgers and Cappeci for Legislative Council in District 3.
Sincerely,
Drew Sherwood
