Calculator Thievery
Police report that during the week of October 16 seven stolen pocket calculators were recovered which had been taken from student bookbags left in the boysâ locker room at Newtown High School.
Police said they charged three male juveniles in the thefts in which more than $500 worth of calculators were stolen.
Police said they charged a 15-year-old student with fifth-degree larceny, charged a 14-year-old student with sixth-degree larceny, and charged another 15-year-old student with criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny. Police declined to identify the students because they are under 16.
The youths are scheduled to appear in Danbury Juvenile Court November 8.
Police ask anyone who had a calculator stolen at the high school to contact school resource officer Robert Koetsch at 426-7648.
