How To Be Appointed To State Boards
HARTFORD â As part of its legislative mandate to promote consideration of qualified women for all levels of government positions, the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) is conducting a seminar to share information about how to be appointed to state boards and commissions.
Seminar participants will hear representatives from the Governorâs office and other state appointing authorities discuss the process and also talk about the responsibilities of applicants. A current state commission member will share her insight into the process.
The PCSW has a Talent Bank of over 200 women of diverse backgrounds and expertise willing to serve state government. Attendees will have an opportunity to add their names to this state resource. There will be two sessions: Monday, November 8, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the State Capitol, Room 310, Hartford, or Tuesday, November 16, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the Governorâs Southwestern Office, 10 Middle Street, Bridgeport (first floor).
To register for either event, call the PCSW office at 860/240-8300 or email them at pcsw@po.state.ct.us.
