Four Charges

Police report that at about 11:23 am on October 31, they stopped motorist Laura Martin, 49, of Waterbury near 62 Church Hill Road to check for possible motor vehicle violations.

After investigating, police charged Martin with driving an unregistered vehicle, improper use of marker plates, driving without automotive insurance, and driving while under suspension.

Police released Martin from custody for a November 13 appearance in Connecticut Superior Court in Danbury.

DUI Charge

Police report that after learning that they held a warrant for his arrest, Thomas Vaneron, 24, of New Milford went to the police station on the morning of October 29 and was then charged with driving under the influence, making an improper turn, and traveling too fast for conditions.

Police said the charges stem from a motor vehicle accident that occurred on the night of April 27, near the intersection of Berkshire Road and Old Mill Road. After processing, police released Vaneron on a written promise to appear in court on November 13.

DUI Arrest

Police report that about 7:23 pm on October 29, they responded to the area near 228 South Main Street to investigate a motor vehicle accident.

A woman who had been driving a Honda CR-V SUV southward on South Main Street stopped at a red traffic signal at Sand Hill Plaza’s northern driveway, after which the Honda was struck from behind by southbound motorist Christopher Ransdell, 33, of Fairfield, who was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion auto.

There were no injuries. After investigating, police charged Ransdell with driving under the influence and with following too closely. After processing, police released Ransdell on a $100 bail for a November 14 court appearance.

Sedan Vs SUV

State police report that at about 7:04 am on October 28, on eastbound Interstate 84, east of the Exit 9 off-ramp, motorist Michael Dimeglio, 34, of Sandy Hook, who was driving a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV, and motorist Kiara Lowe, 24, of Danbury, who was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata sedan, were involved in a collision on the wet roadway.

There were no injuries. State police said Lowe failed to drive in the proper lane and was driving without a license.

I-84 Collision

State police report a collision involving two motorists on eastbound Interstate 84, near Rochambeau Bridge, about 1:35 pm on October 27.

The incident involved motorist Helena Peck, 23, of Naugatuck and motorist Veronica Decker, 36, of Riverhead, N.Y., state police said. There were no injuries. Decker received an infraction for failure to maintain the lane.

Rear-End Crash

In slow, heavy traffic at about 7 pm on October 26, on eastbound Interstate 84, near Exit 9, motorist Deborah Millot, 54, of Agawam, Mass., who was driving a 2018 Mazda CX-9 SUV, stopped for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by motorist Lawrence Libor, 37, of Shelton, who was driving a 2017 Nissan Altima sedan, state police said.

There were no injuries. Libor received an infraction for following too closely.

Debris

About 9:30 am on October 25, motorist Noelle Gentile, 29, of Dover Plains, N.Y., who was driving a 2015 Acura vehicle westward on Interstate 84, about 500 feet east of the Exit 10 off-ramp, struck a large piece of metal debris on the roadway, state police said. There were no injuries. No enforcement was taken.

SUV Hits Pole

About 5:38 pm on October 25, motorist Renee Grandmaison, 22, of Brookfield was driving a 2009 Honda CR-V SUV on Berkshire Road and then turned onto Pole Bridge Road, after which the Honda drove off the roadway and struck a utility pole, police said.

There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Grandmaison for failure to maintain the travel lane.

SUV And Pickup

Police report that about 7:21 pm on October 25, motorist Joseph Gallagher, 27, of Easton, who was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck northward on South Main Street, near Simm Lane, slowed and then stopped for traffic conditions, after which the Chevrolet was struck from behind by a 2004 GMC Envoy SUV driven by Nicholas Kaye, 58, of Bethel.

There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Kaye for following too closely.

Tool Found

Police report that on October 24, a Hackzall-brand reciprocating saw was found in the area near the state boat launch at Lake Lillinonah at 160 Hanover Road. The owner may claim the power tool at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841.

Buick Vs Cadillac

Police report a two-vehicle collision on Church Hill Road, near its intersection with Wendover Road, about 5:44 pm on October 23.

Motorist Bridget Seaman-Walker, 55, of Newtown, who was driving a 1988 Cadillac Brougham sedan eastward, stopped for traffic conditions, after which the Cadillac was struck from behind by an eastbound 2013 Buick Verano sedan driven by Giana Luciani, 18, of Milford. There were no injuries. Police issued Luciani an infraction for following too closely.

Hawleyville Collision

Police report a two-vehicle accident on Taunton Lane at its intersection with Mount Pleasant Road about 3:14 pm on October 22.

In that incident, motorist Aurlice Tigre, 53, of Danbury, who was driving a 2007 Honda CR-V SUV, struck the rear end of 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Adam Welber, 56, of Newtown. There were no injuries. Tigre received a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Toyota Vs Tree

Motorist Angel Delgado, 39, of West Haven was driving a 2018 Toyota Highlander SUV northward on Hattertown Road, near its intersection with Purdy Station Road, about 12:23 pm on October 22, when the SUV drove off the right side of the street and struck a tree, police said.

Delgado was treated at the scene for a minor injury, police said. Police verbally warned Delgado for making a restricted turn.

Flagpole Crash

Police report a two-car accident at the Main Street flagpole intersection at about 3:24 pm on October 21.

Motorist Jan Buchanan, 51, of Shelton was driving a 2008 Jeep Liberty SUV northward, and then stopped near the flagpole and signaled in preparing to make a left turn onto westbound West Street, when the Jeep was struck from behind by a northbound 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-43 4-Matic AMG auto driven by Robert Manfredonia, 53, of Newtown.

Police issued Manfredonia a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart. Police said that shortly after the accident occurred, Buchanan went to the police station to report pain stemming from the accident, but that she refused medical attention.
