EverWonder Planning Science Of Mixology As Annual Fundraiser
EverWonder Children’s Museum, along with major sponsors Marygold’s on Main and Stone Farm, invite the public to the museum’s seventh annual fall fundraiser, The Science of Mixology.
This year’s event is planned for Saturday, November 6, from 6 to 11 pm, at Marygold’s on Main, 19 Main Street.
Guests during the VIP experience from 6 to 7 pm will enjoy a fun, interactive, and professionally led cocktail master class led by Kyle and Kenny of Marygold’s. The fun begins the moment guests arrive in their semi-reserved area laid out with all the liquors, spirits, and mixers required to shake up two fabulous cocktails plus a tiny dose of mixology magic.
Beginning at 7, all guests will discover the science of mixology behind the bar trade and delight in delicious and amazing appetizers that will replace dinner altogether, made fresh inhouse and created by Owner Clark Neugold and Chef de Cuisine Matt Abbott.
Dr Richard Coopersmith will be the evening’s auctioneer, accepting bids on live auction items such as a boat rental for the day, golf outings to private clubs, renowned beers from Tree House Brewing Company, one-of-a-kind art from local artists, a weeping cherry tree covered in delicate pink flowers for the spring, and many more.
Christene Freedman, board chair of EverWonder Children’s Museum, says the museum “is, and always will be, dedicated to engaging children in hands-on learning experiences that foster creative and innovative thinking and problem solving; to nurture a love of learning and sense of confidence and competence.
“Every day our impact is felt when children explore their interests through authentic objects, hands-on exhibits, and activities,” Freedman added.
Proceeds from The Science of Mixology directly support the museum’s new programs and exhibits and will support children to achieve their full potential.
“Because of this event and our sponsors, our museum opens the door to all deserving children encouraging them to think, inquire, and wonder about the world around them,” said Merredith Christos, executive director of the museum. “Between all our sponsors, volunteers, and a committed board of directors, we are excited to host our annual fundraiser and begin to put everyone’s donations to good work.
Additional sponsors include Newtown Savings Bank, Preusser Research Group, Brendan & Amy Naughton, and Smithland Pet and Garden Center.
Tickets are $200 for the full VIP experience, and $100 for the 7 to11 pm segment.
