To the Editor:

Next Tuesday, November 2, at our local election Newtowners will choose leaders for all elective boards for the next two years. Every seat on the Legislative Council is open and we have an opportunity to make positive change. In the First District, that change is personified in three great candidates: Angela Curi, William DeRosa, and Lisa Kessler.

This team will serve the district and all of Newtown well. Both Angela and Lisa bring successful business experience with them. William, a trained classical musician, has a passion for Newtown and the self-motivation needed to get things done. All three candidates believe in smart spending to keep taxation low and our community growing. They each have children in the school system and have dutifully volunteered in the classroom and/or in sports.

All three candidates believe in community service and recognize that the town has a responsibility to serve all residents. If elected, they will use their common sense on the Legislative Council to elevate all our voices and concerns. They believe that decisions made locally are those that most impact our community and as such should be made by people who are in tune with their constituents.

Angela, William, and Lisa will seek your advice and serve Newtown well on the Legislative Council. I encourage all District 1 residents to vote for them next Tuesday.
