To the Editor:

It is my pleasure to support Andy Clure as the Republican candidate in District 3 for the Legislative Council.

I first met Andy six years ago when he joined the Edmond Town Hall Board. Andy was always a very active and engaged member of the board. He was dedicated to improving the economics of the building so we can continue to make this historic landmark available to our community.

Although we miss his energy on the Edmond Town Hall Board, I am happy to see Andy prosper as a town leader when he joined the Board of Education. I have seen that his commitment has always been 100 percent for the families and children of Newtown. He was a strong advocate for changing the school times, which studies have shown increases the productivity and health of our students.

He also led the role in adding more after school activities for the students, such as fall sports in our middle school. Andy has also been meticulous in the budget process to serve the Newtown taxpayers and balance the cost vs quality of our education system.

It is encouraging to see a leader like Andy step up again for a position on the Legislative Council in Newtown. I am confident he will continue to serve our community with the same passion and commitment he has shown over the last six years.
