A Person Of Strong Conviction, Unafraid To Take A Stand
To the Editor:
It is my pleasure to endorse Rebekah Harriman Stites for State Representative. I have known Rebekah and her family for nearly ten years, when me met through our children. Since then, we have spent countless hours on the sidelines watching our sons play sports and attending social functions together. In addition, I have had the opportunity to see her serve as an elected official on the Board of Education and in numerous volunteer capacities.
My support for Rebekah does not come from a feeling that we are kindred spirits politically. It is because I know Rebekah as a person of strong conviction who is not afraid to take a stand, even if she is the only one standing.
Regretfully, our politics have become more and more tribal, with both parties taking a “not invented here” approach to ideas not generated from within. We need people who embrace an approach that the best idea wins, and I believe Rebekah will do just that. In just a few days, Connecticut will have a new governor, which will represent a new beginning for our state regardless of who wins. New faces in Hartford are our best hope for breaking through the present political intransigence to move our great state forward. Please join me in supporting Rebekah Harriman Stites on November 6, as I know she’ll put Newtown before loyalty to party and work for all of us.
Sincerely,
Daniel Rosenthal
