Occupation: I’m a homemaker right now. I used to be an office manager. Now I do a lot of volunteer work, anywhere I’m needed.

Family: My first husband, Rocco, passed away at an early age. We had two children, Rocco, who is now 39 years old, and Bridget, who is 37. I’m married now to Dan, and we have a daughter, Sabrina, who is in the eighth grade at St Rose. We have two grandchildren. Bridget is married to Richard, and they have Lexi, who is 4, and Andrew, who is one year old.

Pets: We have two Persian cats, Ken and Barbie. And we have an aquarium with many fish. Luckily, the aquarium is built into the wall, so the cats can’t get to them.

How long have you lived here? I’ve been a resident of Southbury for 14 years, and an adoptive citizen of Newtown for nine years.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love to cook and bake. I won a cookie bake-off recently. My recipe is included in the new Barnes & Noble Cookie Bake-Off cookbook. In 2014, I won a cake contest with “Cooking for Nonna.” I co-hosted a webcast cooking show with her. I’m having fun with my hobby. I’m a Girl Scout leader of Troop 50617 at St Rose. The girls are Cadettes now. I started as a cookie mom when my daughter was a Daisy, and stepped up as leader when she was in the fourth grade. I also make homemade wine, and it’s coming out pretty good. My husband and I volunteer with a lot of Alzheimer Association fundraisers. Both of our moms had Alzheimer’s. I love to read, especially culinary mysteries.

What are you reading now? I just finished Wicked Charm by Janet Evanovich. I like her mysteries. I like the Nicholas Sparks novels, too.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? I’m biased. My favorite place is Italy. It’s where I came from when I was 13 years old. I still have a lot of relatives in the Naples region. I try to get back every couple of years, when I can. We like the Caribbean, too. We travel there at spring break.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I love the sense of community here. I think of the St Rose community as family, and I never miss a Girl Scout leader meeting, because I feel so good attending them. And we love the library here. Sabrina is very involved in the Young Adult Council there. This library has so many programs. I always find the books I need at this library.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? The women in my family. I was blessed with two strong, determined, smart grandmothers. That’s where I got my love of cooking. My maternal grandmother catered weddings in Italy. My paternal grandmother could turn some bread and escarole into a meal. She was a magician at cooking. My mom was a big influence, too. She had a stroke when she was pregnant with me that left her partially paralyzed on her left side. She never complained. She did everything everyone else did, and did it with a smile. She was such an optimistic person.

If you could meet anyone from history, who would it be? Jesus. I think he was such an extraordinary man. I’d want to be near him and hear him talk.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? I like a cold margarita on a tropical island, and that doesn’t happen very often. Realistically, I cannot resist when I make stuffed bread or pizza, right out of the oven.
